BATTLE REPORT

SEVEN GUNS FOR GOSHEN

Like many back water planets in the Imperium, lone settlements are prone to attacks by xenos pirates and human slave traders. So it was that hell come to the town of Goshen and the hard working miners of Elias x-14 were no strangers to the brutal slaver Hugo Dim and his band of killers. This time was different though, the miners had scraped together what money they had and hired men who lived by the way of the gun.

All they could afford was seven gunmen...seven to fight off thirty slavers. The miners hoped it would be enough............

Among the seven were two brothers who once called Goshen home in their youth...Cole and Roland Harrigan. They understood the consequence of being hired guns, but times were tough and the miners and their families had been kind.

Elias's double suns had just gone down and dusk was all around.

A few brave souls, hard working men, stood with what weapons they had and scanned the outskirts of Goshen alongside the seven.

It was Virgil Hawkeye that caught sight of the first slave gangers cresting the barren hills.

He fired a full clip of ammo with his las rifle , doing his best to make sure they kept their heads down.

Cole and three others, Luke Dead Eye, Al the Dog and Three Finger Bob manned the main gate and braced themselves behind the makeshift barricades.

A dozen slavers now came scrambling down the hills, firing wildly and screaming like mad jackals.

A big bastard the miners called Dundar swept his heavy bolter madly, pinning the three hired guns for a moment.

The murderers came in waves and from all sides of the settlement, forcing the seven to split up and the miners that had the stones to stay and fight followed their protectors.

Roland and Pistol Pete ran for cover, dodging auto pistol and shotgun fire as they made their way for a small depot of water barrels.

They stood guns blazing, dropping the gangers they raced towards the gates.

The seven did their best to defend the miners, the town was surrounded.

Hugo Dim now assaulted the south entrance with his top killers.

A few miners held their ground and managed to kill a few slavers.

though the gang was now jumping the walls and barricades and some now ran from roof top to roof top, taking shots at the gunmen.

The seven closed in to the center of Goshen, trying to keep the savage killer at bay.

A few miners were knocked senseless and dragged off in the dark.

The gunmen locked in brutal close quarters combat, they could do nothing for those poor souls.

One by one the seven began to fall, first Luke Dead Eye...

and then Cole Harrigan....

Then, when all seemed lost Hugo Dim raised his battle sword and gave the signal for retreat...

The slavers had left as quick as they had appeared.... and what was left of the seven was horribly wounded....

Photobucket

Four miners had been captured but none were killed.....the slavers left their dead where they fell, riddled with bullets or burned by lasfire...

Goshen was safe though many men died as they had lived- by the gun.

  3. Very nicely done Krug - great to see some of the old Copplestone minis in action. I have the whole Scavengers set (from EM-4) half painted and ready for a game like this, and you've inspired me to finish them off!

  4. Thanks Colonel and NinjaWay.
I have been collecting and converting for several years and I finally feel I have enough models to run a proper Ash Wastes campaign, this small battle was the real motivator to finish my gangs. Im glad you like them.
